Passerelles, .
Welcome to Passerelles, a podcast designed to spark the curiosity of French language learners.
Emilie .
My name is Emilie, and I created this podcast to share my thoughts with you.
, .
In each episode, I try to help you discover new resources on a variety of topics.
.
This podcast aims to help you practice your French and exchange ideas.
.
I hope each episode makes you want to delve deeper into the topics we discuss. As always, feel free to join me on Instagram for more conversation. This week, maybe for the first time since launching this podcast, I had to face writer's block. I imagine you've all experienced it–that moment when inspiration just seems to vanish. Usually, even if I'm taking this project step by step, I always have a little idea for the following week, a topic that caught my attention. This week, I don't know, my mind was cluttered with little everyday things. But those are the kinds of things that happen all the time, to everyone, right? So, to get things moving and link back to last week's episode, I went through my notebook to find some inspiration. That's how I came up with the idea of offering you an episode with a slightly different format. Today is the first episode of a series I'm calling Listening Diary. I know I've mentioned several times that I often take notes when I listen to podcasts.
, .
A listening journal – it's kind of like an extension of this exercise.
, .
Based on my notes, let's dive into an episode of a podcast I listened to recently.
, .
Each time, I'll introduce a new resource in authentic French and help you delve deeper into its meaning with a few excerpts I've selected.
x x, Siam Djibril deux mille dix-sept.
The episode I listened to again this week is from Generation XX, a podcast Siam Djibril started in 2017.
Mayua, .
This is an interview with Mayua, an artist and filmmaker who is a huge inspiration to me.
, x x, .
Today, I'll briefly introduce the concept of generation x x, and then we'll go over the main points.
, , .
Basically, I'm going to summarize the main points from the episode I chose.
, .
Finally, there's one particular passage about success that really stuck with me.
.
We're going to listen to it together, and I'll share my thoughts with you afterward.
x x, .
To put it simply, Generation X X is all about a series of interviews.
, , , .
In each episode of her podcast, Siam invites a woman to talk about her life and career journey. These conversations tend to be quite long, with episodes averaging an hour. When asked about what inspired her to start the project, Siam explains that discovering American podcasts made her want to explore the format.
, x x France.
Generation X can even be considered a podcasting pioneer in France.
, , , .
Speaking of which, when did podcasts become popular in your country, and when did you first get into them?
, deux-mille-dix-sept, siem , France.
As I was saying, back in 2017, the year siem released its first episode, podcasts weren't nearly as popular as they are now in France.
, , , .
Back then, she listened to a lot of American podcasts and realized how much they helped her develop her thinking. That's how she got the idea to start her own.
